Trust and teamwork by Chris Widener

In just about every area of life that involves people, including sports, business and family, you realize the importance of trust and teamwork. There are countless stories of teams without necessarily the greatest talent, who end up winning the championship. Or businesses that don’t have near the capital of their competitors, yet outperforming those same competitors.

One of the most obvious areas that trust and teamwork come into play is in the military, particularly with fighter pilots, who have to fly at fast speeds while in formation. This requires 100% trust and teamwork. And when it is done right, it is a thing of beauty.

What if we could bring those same principles into our businesses, organizations and homes?

I had the opportunity to not only meet, but also interview such a fighter pilot - Rob "Waldo" Waldman. Waldo is a former Air Force fighter pilot with over 2650 flight hours and 65 real-world combat missions. He uses the experience of real-world combat to relate to sales and management execution. Waldo has his MBA and spent a number of years in the software, and mergers and acquisitions business. He has earned achievements such as Instructive Pilot of the Year, Top Gun, and Top Flight Lead.

Here are just a few of the things Rob shares from his exciting experiences while serving in the Air Force…

How to perform with virtually flawless precision when you need to. How to overcome any fear.

How to get different departments of a company to work together, watch each other's back, and help each other out when there's a need. (Too much time and money goes to waste simply because departments within the same company don't work together. Reduce this problem, and watch your company thrive like never before!)

How to prepare for the unexpected and what to do when it happens. Why most people clamp up during a meeting, and the secret to getting everyone to share their best ideas and speak up – freely and without hesitation. (You'll be surprised (actually, shocked!) to find how many good ideas go down the drain simply because so few companies practice this secret…)

What you need to do to create more "wins" in your life.

And much, much more

The Power of the Word by Dan Robey

Think about the word "choose."

It may be the single most important word in your life.

Why?

Let's look at what the dictionary says about the word "choose"
1. to select from a number of possibilities; pick by preference: Example: She chose Sunday for her departure.

2. to prefer or decide (to do something): Example: He chose to run for election.

3. to want; desire.

4. to make a choice: Example: He chose carefully.

5. to be inclined: Example: You may stay here, if you choose.

Let's look at #3 first, "to want, to desire," we all have wants and desires, you can "choose" to love or not be loved. You can choose to seek after that which you desire, or simply hope it will magically come to you someday.

Look at #1 "to select from a number of possibilities" WOW, this is powerful. A number of possibilities, I would say this is almost unlimited.

Here are some examples:

1. You could choose to live a sedentary life or an active life.
2. You could choose to imagine your life as successful or believe that success will never come your way.

3. You could choose to believe in something when all those around you say you should not believe in it.

4. You could choose to take "action" or not take action.
5. You could choose to gain knowledge by reading newsletters like this one as well as books and magazines that will empower you with life changing information, or you could choose to watch more TV. (here is something to think about when watching TV.....VIRTUALLY EVERYONE YOU ARE WATCHING IS GETTING PAID TO BE ON TELEVISION... how much do you get paid to watch it?)

6. Look at #2 from the dictionary listing above. To prefer or decide (to do something): Example: He chose to run for election. Every President the United States has ever had first chose to seek and/or accept the job.

You see, it is "YOU" that chooses, YOU have the power to choose the direction of your life.

* You can choose to seek success.

* You can choose to have a healthy body by choosing what you put in it and what you do with it.
* You can choose to use the power of attraction (as discussed in The Secret) by creating a movie in your mind of you succeeding and believing that the success you are visualizing is already yours! * You can choose to take that new job in another city.

* You can choose to forgive.

But here is the bottom line.

It is "YOU" who must choose, no one else can choose for you.

Here is an important question......Will you choose?

Make no mistake about it, even if you choose NOT to choose you have chosen a direction for your life......that is POWERFUL!

So I challenge you today to look at your life and CHOOSE!

* Choose success

* Choose unconditional love

* Choose health

* Choose to take the time to teach your children what you have learned about choosing. You know there are areas of your life "RIGHT NOW" where you have failed to make a choice....to choose.

Why do I issue this challenge to you?

Because I care about YOU......I "choose" to care about you.

The Power of Positive Habits by Dan Robey

Did you know that habits are incredibly powerful tools for personal growth and success?

Think about the habits you have now and how they affect virtually every aspect of your life. Your weight and health are determined by your eating habits. Your relationships with people are determined by your social habits. Your success at work is determined by your work habits. You have sleeping habits that dictate how well you sleep. You have sexual habits. You even have buying habits; just take a look around your house and you will quickly see them. Our character, health and virtually every aspect of our lives are indeed determined by our habits.

If you ask ten people on the street what the word habit means, nine out of ten will tell you that a habit is a negative action that people do over and over again, like smoking, or procrastinating, or eating too much. Bad habits get all the pressLet's look at the results of just one bad habit: smoking. Every year, over 400,000 people lose their lives to smoking-related illnesses in the United States. Imagine then, the negative power that exists in just that one bad habit. It is staggering.

Now I want you think about an even greater power, a power that can bring you success, health and happiness; a power for positive, permanent, and automatic personal growth: the power of positive habits. Let's look a little closer at the meaning of the word habit. Random House dictionary defines habit in this way:

Habit: An acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary.

The important words in this definition are acquired and almost involuntary. Let me ask you a question. When is the last time you sat down and said to yourself, "Today I am going to add a new habit to my life?" I would venture to guess that you have probably never said those words.

As you read this article, you will see how easy it is to add positive habits to your life and the great power they have to change it. Think about the words almost involuntary. This means the habit is so powerful in your mind that it is almost unstoppable! With respect to bad habits like smoking, procrastination, and overeating, this is very bad. But with positive habits, this is very, very good.

What is a positive habit? A positive habit is simply a habit that produces positive benefits, actions and attitudes you want to acquire and make a part of your life. Why is there such great power in positive habits to effect change? Because habits, by their very nature, are automatic. After a period of time they can become permanent.

So how do we go about adding new positive habits to our life? It's really quite easy. You simply begin repeating an action, attitude or thought process every day for at least 21 days. Research has shown that an action that is repeated for a minimum of 21 days is likely to become a permanent habit. Remember that positive habits have positive benefits and you will reap those benefits for as long as you maintain that habit.Remember that positive habits have positive benefits and you will reap those benefits for as long as you maintain that habit.

So now that we know what positive habits are, and how to acquire them, let's look at a simple positive habit that will help you reach all of your goals ..automatically.

Positive Habit #53 - Make it a habit to set goals

Did you know that the most successful people all share the common positive habit of goal setting? A study was done to determine the importance of goal setting. College students who had gone on to achieve great success in business were asked to list their habits.

The students who had made a habit of setting goals were in the top 3% of earnings in the population! It is almost impossible to overestimate the value of goal-setting as a positive habit. Goal setting is simple, yet 97% of the population never do it. By making goal setting a positive habit, you can start placing yourself in the top 3% of the population of successful people.

Here are some simple steps to help you start making goal setting a positive habit:

Step 1 - Define your goals, write them down, and be very specific; capture your goals on paper. It is amazing how many people never take the time to write down exactly what it is they want in life. Remember, you can't hit a target if you don't have one.

Step 2 - Determine what the time line is for reaching your goals; set specific deadlines for each goal.

Step 3 - Identify any obstacles that may stand in your way, list them, and state how you plan to overcome them.

Step 4 - Make a list of the people and/or organizations who will help you reach your goals.

OK, you have now had an introduction to the program and your first positive habit.

In order to really turbo-charge your success you need to be organized. I would like to recommend a great program that will help you get organized FAST!

Introducing I Am Organized Now!

ENJOY!

sincerely,
