What is Good Friday? by John Di Lemme
Happy Easter !
Today...!
Good Friday is the Friday immediately preceding Easter Sunday. It is traditionally the day on which Jesus was crucified !
The name "Good Friday" came from the earlier English name, "Godes Friday," meaning *God's Friday* !
So, why is this particular Friday referred to as "good" if such a
horrible tragedy happened on this day? !
Here's Why - - !
It's not the actual crucifixion that is considered good. It's the results of
Christ's death and God's enduring love that are good (phenominal) !
As the Bible Says in...!
Romans 5:8!
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were
still sinners, Christ died for us."!
1 Peter 3:18 !
"For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous,
to bring you to God. He was put to death n the body but made alive by the Spirit."!
As the sun shined on my face this morning, My heart filled with thankfulness for what he gave up for me...and you :) !
